The agency announced that it has licensed 4 institutions to teach online

 The Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency announced that for the first time out of 9 higher education institutions that applied to start online education, 4 institutions have been accredited. 

According to Tarekegn Geresu, Director of Communication Affairs of the Agency, the four institutions have been accredited in six undergraduate and postgraduate programs. 

Licensed to teach online are Yardstick International College, IT Online College, American College of Technology and Literature College. 

He said there was no online education directive in the public or private higher education institutions before, but now the directive has been implemented and we have started online education. 

He also said that the information management system has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Technology and Innovation. He said 1.1 million students and alumni information and 2,750 programs have entered the system.
