 Support rallies will be held for the Defense Forces 

The National Sports Coordinating Committee of the Ethiopian Defense Forces (EDF) announced that sports fundraising competitions will be held in Addis Ababa. Habtamu Sisay, Chairman of the National Sports Coordinating Committee of the 

State Ministry of Culture and the Defense Forces Support, made a statement on the purpose of the competition.

 According to ENA, the terrorist TPLF has rejected the government's decision to cease fire He said the army and other security forces are defending the war in Amhara and Afar states. 

He said the National Sports Coordinating Committee, formed under the National Arts and Media Committee, has been working on the support of the Defense Forces in recent weeks. Therefore, he said, "I will fight to save Ethiopia, wherever, whenever, for nothing" and "I am an Ethiopian soldier!

" He said the program is designed to show the community's support for the Defense Forces by organizing various sports competitions. He also said that blood donations will be made alongside sports venues. He said the first round of mass sports movement will be held tomorrow (August 9, 2013) nationwide. 

Habtamu said the second round of the 5 km public race will be held on August 26, 2013 and the third round will be held on August 23, 2013. In all, more than 900,000 people will participate in the sport in all three rounds, he said. 

In addition to sports competitions, revenue collection for the army will be held in all regions; Blood donation will be done, said the chairman of the coordinating committee.

 The Ethiopian Volleyball Federation, the Ethiopian World Taekwondo Federation, the Ethiopian Motor Sports Association and the Ethiopian Football Federation are also collecting blood donations and revenues.
