Private health sector institutions in Dessie donated more than 620,000 birr worth of food and materials to IDPs.

 Displaced people from various parts of North Wollo Zone have been relocated to five camps in Dessie. The people of Dessie, who have always been generous, have been generously supporting their people. 

The IDPs also testify to this support. Currently, there are more than 55,000 IDPs in Dessie alone, according to the city administration. Private health sector institutions in Dessie provided food and materials worth over 620,000 birr to IDPs. 

Support Coordinator Dr. Abdu Seid told us that they support the IDPs. Noting that this is the first time, Dr. Abdu said that they are ready to provide professional assistance beyond food and clothing. 

Similarly, Dessie City Building Materials Supply Association donated clothes and materials worth over 100,000 birr to the IDPs. Displaced people contacted by Amhara Media Corporation thanked them for their support.
